Choose Your Battlefield

IMGThen said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
Matthew 26:52-53 (KJV)

Scripture tells us that there are many tares (servants of the wicked one) amongst the wheat. One reliable way in which I have found these people reveal the true nature of their hearts is in the matter of violence. Do we trust in God to protect us, or carnal weapons?

Meditate on the above verse for a few moments. First ask yourself “Does God have the ability to physically protect me just as he did Himself?” Then ask “Do we have any examples of God protecting His people?” Yes, of course we do! So why should we be buying guns and concerned with physically defending ourselves?

Yes, logic and reason have their place, but not when they contradict the most basic of spiritual truths. Is it logical to walk into a fiery furnace or to walk on water? There comes a point where logic ends and faith begins. A simple truth that Satan has hidden from many Christians today is that the just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17 KJV). What does this mean? When we truly believe that God will protect us that faith is all the protection we need! That doesn’t mean we will never be hurt, or die, what it means is we will live or die according to His will. That’s what living by faith means.

And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
Luke 4:5-6 (KJV)

As Christians we need to choose what battlefield we will fight on, because we cannot fight on both. You see, when we choose to fight in the physical realm we are fighting on Satan’s turf and his terms. Satan is delighted. All the kingdoms of this world belong to him at this moment. This is why Jesus told us that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (2 Corinthians 10:4 KJV), and that those who live by the sword shall perish by it (Matthew 26:52 KJV).

The weapons of our warfare only exist in the spirit realm and it is on that battlefield that we are called to fight. It is also on that battlefield where we have the advantage, because in the spirit realm the hosts of Heaven and the Lord Himself will fight along with us! Now you can see why Satan is so delighted when a Christian picks up a gun; because by abandoning the spiritual battle they are already defeated! Does Satan care if you send a few of his servants to Hell before their time? Of course not! It is only when we take the fight into the spirit realm that our God is able to protect us.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)

Look at Lot, he had a gang of homosexuals outside his door prepared to rape and kill all of his household. Did that happen? No it didn’t! Do you serve the same God that Lot did, yes or no? It really is that simple. Either you believe that He is able, or you don’t.

Now if God has chosen the path of the martyr for you there is no escaping it, gun or no gun. And make no mistake, unlike the fool servants of the demon Allah Christian martyrs bear no weapons. We don’t kill for Christ, we die for Him. But most Christians today are lackadaisical and living in a dream, a spiritual slumber. The Holy Spirit has not been permitted to do His work in their hearts. Many have grieved the Spirit and He has departed from them. But they are so enamored with the pleasures of this life that they don’t even notice. They have allowed their foolish hearts to become so darkened that they take Ephesians 4:30 (KJV) as a promise, not a grave warning!

Some Lost Sheep Don’t Want to be Found

My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place.
Jeremiah 50:6 (KJV)

It saddens me terribly that most who hear this message will ignore it. Early on God showed me that my ministry was to be directed at finding His ‘lost sheep’. At first I thought this would be easy, I will just show them using scripture where they are wrong and they will repent and I’ll be on my way. But I was not prepared for lost sheep who didn’t want to be found.

Do the pastors bear some of the blame? Sure they do, however we are all personally accountable to God for our salvation. Nobody will enter Heaven by pointing to their pastor and saying “I’m with him”, and even if you could you might not want to go where your pastor is going!

I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Jeremiah 17:10 (KJV)

Oh, they all have their personal reasons for not wanting to be found, but inevitably it all comes back to sin. Some hide from God in shame over their sin like Adam and Eve did in the garden, while others seem to think they can linger on the outskirts of salvation and indulge their pet sins because ‘God knows my heart’. Oh yes, they have many snappy phrases they use to avoid judging themselves, and they loudly denounce anyone who attempts any Godly correction, but scripture is clear.

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
1 Corinthians 11:31 (KJV)

The above verse plainly tells us that if we would only judge ourselves God will not judge us. These lost souls are only fooling themselves because unless they change the path they are on the intentions of their hearts will all be revealed on judgment day. Meanwhile, the protests of those who bleat “Stop judging meeee” will not be heard by God on judgment day because those of us who have been warning others are only obeying what Ezekiel 3:20 (KJV) tells us to do.
