The Mark of the Beast (Part I)

IMGAnd he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Revelation 13:16-17 (KJV)

For centuries now men have wondered after the Beast and the number of his name. God has given me some insight into this mark that may just save the eternity of some reading this so take heed.

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Revelation 22:18-19 (KJV)

One of the things we may notice about the King James is that it specifically tells us that this mark is to be 'in' the right hand or forehead, not imprinted 'on' the skin. First things first, which bible version is the true Word of God? Simply stated if bible versions contradict each other they are not the same! What do the other versions say? Something different! Is your favorite bible version in this list?

New International Version
The Message Bible
American Standard Version
International Standard Version
New Living Translation
English Standard Version
New American Standard Bible
Aramaic Bible in Plain English
God's Word Translation
Good News Bible
Darby Bible Translation
English Revised Version
Weymouth New Testament
World English Bible
Young's Literal Translation

All of the above versions refer to the mark as being stamped or branded upon the skin, not placed under it. Our first impulse would probably be to go with the majority, however there is more to this than meets the eye. What else do these versions have in common?

Fact: Every single bible version in the above list is based on the Alexandrian texts whereas the King James is the only modern version based on the Antioch texts of the Textus Receptus. Yet until fifty or so years ago virtually all of the Protestant bibles were King James which was translated from the Textus Receptus in 1611. Since that time no other version was translated from the TR, yet the KJV remained virtually the only bible for Protestant Christians for over 300 years.

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
Amos 8:11 (KJV)

So, are we to believe that the bible versions in these last days have suddenly become more accurate as the scholars claim? Or do we believe the Word of God which tells us in the book of Amos that there will be a famine for hearing the Word of God in the last days?

My digression into the bible version issue was necessary for one reason; to illustrate the fact that all 'bibles' are not the Word of God, no matter how many pastors or scholars tell you otherwise. And when it comes to the mark of the beast and your decision on whether you take it, your eternity will depend on choosing the correct meaning of Revelation 13:16 (KJV). Now that we have that out of the way I can focus on the technology involved. Suffice to say this mark will be much more than a mere number, stay tuned!
