A Workman Worthy of His Meat

IMGAnd as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
Matthew 10:7-10 (KJV)

What does it mean to be a workman worthy of his meat? As Christians we are workman for the kingdom of God and our meat is salvation. As workmen for God our duty is to do the 'first works' (Revelation 2:5 KJV) which includes preaching the gospel. Can we be workmen worthy of our meat without doing so? Not according to scripture.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jude 1:3-4 (KJV)

In these last days the church is in shambles. As I have written countless times in the past those who were sneaking into the churches with their false doctrines even in Jude's time have now taken them completely over. That statement includes not only the Catholic Church, but the denominations. And yes, that includes the Baptist's too. What is a true servant of Christ to do?

We Must Reprove and Rebuke False Doctrine

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Ephesians 5:11 (KJV)

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2 Timothy 4:2 (KJV)

What does it mean to reprove? According to Strong's concordance it means 'to confute, admonish:--convict, convince, tell a fault, rebuke, reproveā€. Scripture is clear; we must reprove unfruitful works of darkness, and there is no darker deeds than those of the reprobates who have snuck into the churches with their false doctrines.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Revelation 3:15-16 (KJV)

I'm not very popular on social networks. Why? Because I speak the truth. Now if you asked some they would say it is because I am 'combative', 'unloving' or any of the many other euphemisms out there for telling people things that they just don't want to hear, yet desperately need to. For a workman worthy of his hire there are countless apostasies to condemn; some of the more prevalent include eternal security, the 'Hebrew roots' movement, prosperity preaching and works based salvation.. We are surely in the last days before His coming, are you prepared?

Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.
Ezekiel 3:20-21 (KJV)

Reproving the doctrines of devils is not optional, but the duty of every Christian worthy of his meat. This includes everyone, including your own pastor. Paul provided us with the example that no person is above being reproved and rebuked. When no less than the apostle Peter fell into the Hebrew Roots deception it was Paul who reproved and corrected him (Galatians 2:11 KJV).

Lukewarm Christians Will Not Be Blameless

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Matthew 24:9-11 (KJV)

There are two different categories of lukewarm Christians out there. One will never dare to correct others, even when they know they are spewing bad doctrine. They will actually watch on the sidelines as others do all the 'dirty work' for them that is every Christian's duty. Some will have very few rewards in Heaven, while scripture tells us that there are others so completely worthless as to be unprofitable servants who will be cast into the outer darkness, which is Hell (Matthew 25:30 KJV).

As despicable as they are we then we have others who will actually hinder you in your ministering to others. They will call you an alarmist, or judgmental. They will mock, they will laugh you to scorn for being vigilant all while claiming to be fellow Christians! "Oh, that's too much" they will say.

Some of us are willing to go to further lengths than others just to please God. Like examining the Christmas issue, which is a holiday provably of pagan origin to anyone willing to do the research. Another one of the biggest deceptions out there is that the modern state of Israel was created by God Himself. Scripture is clear that the Jews will not be gathered together again until they turn back to their Messiah as a nation which clearly hasn't happened yet.

The first clue of something being not right with modern Israel is their flag which bears the pagan hexagram. It has been used in the past to represent the Rothschild banking family and is the most powerful occult symbol there is. It should come as no surprise that Jesus in fact spoke of these who claim to be Jews but are not in the book of Revelation and referred to them as the "synagogue of Satan" (Revelation 2:9, 3:9 KJV)

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. (2 Corinthians 11:2-4 KJV).

Our brother Paul nails it right on the head. This is why we must fight, this is why we must offend. I feel this same Godly jealousy burning in my bosom whenever I come across the doctrines of devils being preached to my fellow Christians. Don't you? If false doctrine doesn't offend you there is something terribly wrong with your walk with God. It is not me, but the Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit in me which becomes offended by it.
