Coronavirus is Not What Christians Should Be Fearing

CoronavirusThe fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 1:7 (KJV)

I have been hesitant to share this message, because I wanted to be certain that I have heard from God on the matter of this new Coronavirus. I feel that it would be irresponsible to needlessly stir up fear during these perilous times we find ourselves in just before the rapture of the church. On the other hand, the truth of the matter is that those who are not right with God really should be in fear right now.

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
2 Timothy 2:3-4 (KJV)

While praying to God about this Coronavirus, and this really applies to all pestilence in general, I really sensed that this time it is real. Very, very real. But as that sank in, God’s message to this generation came through loud and clear. It is a hard message, but it needs to be heard. The Holy Spirit is saying that God does not intend for His servants to hide at home in the shadows during these times of fear and uncertainty. Quite the opposite, He plainly told me that He is raising up a people who will not fear getting a virus, or violence, or any other danger in this world!

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Mark 16:17-18 (KJV)

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
Psalm 91:10 (KJV)

Yes, God is saying that those He has called to minister to the sick will be supernaturally protected by Him from any and all disease! Glory to God! We know that the plagues that are to come upon the earth in the days before the tribulation will increase in intensity as we get closer. However, God will not be allowing these things to spread in order to punish or create fear, but simply to plead with the world to wake up from their slumber and consider their mortality and eternity.

Right now, we live in a world where belief in God is mocked and Christians are openly ridiculed. However, when death is staring these people in the face, all of that false bravado will quickly evaporate as their worlds begin quickly collapsing in on them. Fear and the uncertainty of the next world will forcefully thrust multitudes into the valley of decision. Only the most delusional will continue to cling to their atheism in their proverbial foxholes.

Yes, many will be dying in the future, but as Christians we are supposed to understand that to die is to gain. Get your priorities straight people! It doesn’t matter if you are old or young when you die if you serve your Master Jesus Christ, and not your own flesh. There is no fear of death for us, because death is merely walking through a door to eternity in paradise! When that day comes, will you be looking forward, or back, as Lot’s wife did?

And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
Mark 4:18-19 (KJV)

The most important thing for us to be doing right now is to once and for all clear our heads of the cares of this world! Like a radio, we must fine tune our spirits in order to pick up the still, small signal of God’s spirit. Why? Because it is only that voice that can guide us in the uncharted waters ahead! It is that voice that will tell us to drop whatever we are doing and pray for someone, right now! It is His voice that will say “Don’t park here, part on the other side of the lot”, or perhaps suddenly urge us to call someone we haven’t spoken to in years.

We must disengage ourselves from the constant stream of media into our minds! If our phones are too distracting, we must turn them off. These are the thorns in our lives in this 21st century, the cares of this world mentioned in the above scripture passage.

Where does Jesus fit in your life? We don’t need constant music in our ear as we drive, or fiddling with our phones when we’re in the bathroom. We must make time daily to talk to God! We also need time to reason; to process all of the things going on around us.
You see, when we do not make time to reason, we force ourselves to only react emotionally in the moment. Emotions are not good! Emotions are irrational, and they are easily manipulated and exploited. More often than not, our emotions are just plain wrong.

How can Christians today wonder why they don’t hear from God? He can’t get a word in edgewise! How on earth do you think that still, small voice can compete with the stream of filth this world constantly blasts at us? What about what we put before our eyes? Scripture tells us that Satan is an angel of light. What do you think all of these TVs, movies and phone screens put out? It is a truly blinding light! Satan is also called the prince of the power of the air. All of these ‘over the air’ TV broadcasts, radio, cellphone and WIFI signals literally operate by and through the power of the air!

And don’t kid yourself, because It doesn’t really matter if we only fill ourselves with completely pure and wholesome material (good luck finding that!) if we are still robbing God of time better spent with Him! We must make our relationship with God our daily priority if we are to have any chance of surviving the onslaught of wickedness just ahead!
