Rebecca Brown Shows Her True Colors

IMGFor there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Matthew 24:24 (KJV)

Any regular reader of my articles knows that I am not particularly focused on exposing wolves, but the following is such a blatant example of Rebecca Brown's true character that I couldn't let it go unmentioned. Let me preface this by saying I have most of Rebecca's books and believe there is much truth in them. However we (and myself included) are always subject to deception. It is my belief that God occasionally allows us to be deceived just to remind us that we are but flesh.

With Rebecca (and her husband Daniel Yoder) I have of late seen some very strange and unbiblical teachings on a variety of subjects that the casual Christian would probably miss. I say that with no pride, I just recognize that I am further down the road than some Christians. One that comes to mind is the teaching that animals go to Heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:21 KJV) and that they even have souls. Another is that God is very angry with Christians who don't mindlessly obey their pastors. But neither prepared me for the peculiar lie I caught Rebecca in last night.

I was browsing her Facebook group when I noticed the following post accompanied by a photograph:

"12-14-13 This picture was taken by Daniel this fall on our land. We live in a valley with mountains on three sides. This picture was taken across the valley as the sun was setting, of the mountain on the opposite side. You can see our drive way at the bottom of the picture. It runs along the side of the mountain. God has greatly blessed us by allowing us to live in such a beautiful place."

This was accompanied by a photograph of the beautiful fall colors in a forest. However as lovely as it is there's one small problem; this photograph was not taken by her husband this past fall as she claims, but has been in the public domain for the past five years! This photograph can be found in the Wikipedia Commons where it has been since 2011 and was taken by Flicker user Forest Wander on October 11th 2008. This photograph has also been well distributed all over the internet.

This begs the question why would Rebecca Brown lie about something so trivial? And what does this say about her trustworthiness? In my opinion this totally destroys her credibility which is especially important because of the topics she and her husband regularly discuss. Daniel Yoder is constantly claiming to have had visions of Heaven and all sorts of sit down meetings with God almighty. And he is also complicit in this deception, because he is the admin of her page and regularly answers questions for Rebecca. I would not allow my wife to lie about my taking a photograph, or anything else for that matter. If you cannot trust these people in the smallest things how can you trust their doctrine? You cant!

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 16:18 (KJV)

So once again I have to eat crow and admit my mistake. I never really promoted her or her teachings on this blog, however her writings have influenced me. Remember it is all about the leaven folks. None of us are above being deceived by Satan. Let this be a lesson to us all that we should place no man (or woman) on a pedestal, except Christ.
