The Synagogue of Satan (Part III)

IMGWho Are the 'Synagogue of Satan'?

I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
Revelation 2:9 (KJV)

This verse is where it all started for me with a simple question: Who are the 'Synagogue of Satan'? It is taken from one Christ's letters to the seven churches. Perhaps some of you are not aware of the prophetic significance of them. These letters were placed at the beginning of the book of Revelation for good reason.

The seven churches were not only literal churches from the beginnings of the 'times of the Gentiles', but also serve as archetypes of the end days churches, all in a different relationship with Christ. For example, the Philadelphia church is promised to be kept from experiencing the tribulation, but the Laodicean does not even have a relationship with Christ (Revelation 3:20 KJV)! These letters represent Christ's final warnings to His Bride before the rapture.

From my studies into the identity of the 'synagogue of Satan' I have discovered they consist of three groups. The first group are those that Christ confronts in John 8:37-47 (KJV) who are of Abraham's seed genetically speaking, but deny Him as their Messiah. Then we have a second group of those called Ashkenazi Jews that we find are not Jews at all by God's standards, which is to be a direct descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They are European Jews from Kazakhstan who adapted Judaism as their religion for political reasons. Hebrew is not their language, but Yiddish.

The third are those of the modern 'Hebrew Roots' cult. These are Gentiles who think they have been grafted into the Jewish race and therefore are Jews spiritually speaking. But scripture tells us that it is Christ now who is the vine through which both Jew and Gentile are grafted in. They refer to a demon named Yeshua as their savior and claim not to be Christians, but Israelites. Yeshua will be one of the names the Antichrist will take for himself, and he is the messiah all these counterfeit Jews have been waiting for.

What About the True Israelites?

As I have written many times in the past Satan will twist scripture in order to deceive. He was so bold as to try it against Christ Himself in the desert, will he not try it against us? In addition, Satan is well known for imitating things of God. The modern "Jew" is perhaps his greatest deception ever, taking the rightful place of God's chosen and possessing the land He deeded to them in an eternal covenant

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Genesis 12:1-3 (KJV)

In the above passage God makes a powerful promise to Abraham and his children to bless his friends and curse his enemies. We see this powerfully demonstrated throughout the Old Testament, even in their captivity in Egypt. Even when God had deemed that they needed to go into slavery as punishment, He still did not forget the promise. Though He used the Egyptians to carry out His justice, once He had deemed their time of punishment to be over he sent Moses as their deliverer. When Pharaoh's heart became hardened againt them God showed him what happens when you curse His people.

Christ is their Deliverer

And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
Revelation 11:8 (KJV)

Fast forward two thousand years and we find the Jews embroiled in what the prophet Jeremiah called the times of Jacob's trouble. What is the 'great city' spoken of here? Jerusalem. Why is it spiritually called Sodom and Egypt? We have to go back to Genesis for the answer to that.

What do these two places have in common? They are both cities from which God's people are miraculously delivered. Discerning Christians will also perceive that Moses was a Christ archetype, being the quintessential deliverer. But as we all know the Jews rejected Christ the first time around. However the good news is that when Christ is once again revealed to the Jews as their true Messiah He will miraculously deliver them out of Jerusalem and the hand of the Antichrist to a place He has prepared for them in the mountains.

And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
Luke 21:20-21 (KJV)

Reality check folks, if God gave Israel back their land in 1948 why would He have them flee Jerusalem and all Judea (Israel) during the tribulation? Yes, there will be a temporary peace during the reign of the Antichrist, but that will quickly come to an end as we see in the above passage.

Obviously it is not time for them to possess it yet. Just like they fled Egypt to avoid Pharaoh's armies and Sodom to flee judgment Christ will call God's people out of all Israel to flee to the mountains of Petra where He will hide them under His wings of protection. You see, the full gathering together of Israel has not happened yet, but will occur only once their eyes have been opened to the fact that Christ was their Messiah all along.

The Blindness of the Jews Explained

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Romans 11:25 (KJV)

I'll bet some of you were thinking how unfair it is that God has blinded all the Jews. I know that thought crossed my mind so I asked Him about it. Here is the answer He gave me.

The whole point of being a Jew (Israelite) was that out of all the peoples of the world they alone were God's chosen. But chosen for what exactly? Chosen by God to reveal Himself to them in a mighty way. And reveal Himself He did. He performed miracle after miracle for them. He revealed His grace, He revealed His mercy. He held back nothing from Moses but that he could gaze upon His face, and that was only to protect him from certain death (Exodus 33:20 KJV).

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (KJV)

You see, by the Jews taking Christ's blood upon them as a curse they did not bring any special kind of blindness upon themselves, just the same blindness that all who are lost experience. We can see this described in the above scripture. The Jews had the full revelation of God made manifest to them yet they still rejected Him! It just boggles the mind how utterly wicked they were. Sometimes I think God chose them just to show the world that if He could favor such a wicked people with His grace there is hope for anyone.

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Luke 11:9 (KJV)

But we must also understand exactly what manner of blindness this is we are talking about. God allows Satan to blind those who do not believe. But if a person is genuinely seeking the truth God will allow them to find it. Nobody stumbles upon spiritual truth accidentally, we must determine in our hearts to seek it, and follow it wherever it leads. In these 'times of the Gentiles' we are currently in a Jew comes to Christ in the same way as a Gentile, through the blood of Jesus.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
Romans 11:26 (KJV)

Now that we know God's chosen have been blinded just like the rest of the world we can understand why the last book of the bible is called the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Because once that blindness has been removed Jesus Christ will once again be supernaturally revealed to them as their true Messiah. Yes, all of Israel shall be saved!

Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
Romans 9:27 (KJV)

However, do not forget who that consists of. It is not the state of Israel, or everyone who calls themselves a Jew (Revelation 2:9 KJV) or even all of the seed of Abraham (John 8:37-47 KJV). True Israel in a post cross world consists exclusively of just a remnant of the Children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who have chosen to embrace Christ as their Messiah. Being born a Jew is not some loophole to get around the cross; men like Paul and the disciples still had to embrace Christ as their Messiah and so will modern Israel.

And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
Revelation 11:12-13 (KJV)

Notice here we have the remnant mentioned by name. They have just witnessed God's judgment in the form of an earthquake in Jerusalem and give glory to Him. But it also says their enemies were right there watching all this take place in Jerusalem. So obviously not everyone in Jerusalem will all be God's chosen people.

After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
Revelation 4:1 (KJV)

Do you notice the similarity between this verse and the previous one? In Revelation 11 we see that a voice from Heaven calls up the two witnesses to Heaven as their enemies watched, and in chapter 4 John is called up to Heaven from earth. It is believed that not only John is called up to Heaven at this moment, but all those found worthy to escape the tribulation.
