We Must Rebuke Them Sharply!
What does it mean to rebuke those who spread false doctrine sharply? It simply means that we don’t mince our words. We don’t qualify what the Spirit puts on our lips with phrases like “You are entitled to your opinion but…” because we recognize that man’s opinions are worthless. Many people who are clearly not called into this ministry attempt to teach others. The main qualification for teaching is that you actually hear from the Holy Spirit. Many try to fake it by copying the doctrines of others, but without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit they have no way of discerning which doctrines are true or false. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and
sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of
soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the
thoughts and intents of the heart. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of
the Spirit, which is the word of God: The only way to properly correct others is with scripture, and the Word of God is compared to a sword for good reason. Another way of saying it is that we rebuke them sharply with our swords. The sword of the Spirit flays the flesh; it slices and dices better than a Ginsu knife. This is why having an uncorrupted bible is so crucial. Trying to guide yourself and others using a corrupted bible version like the NIV or MESSage is like trying to cut meat with a butter knife. Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season;
reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. As Christians we must not tolerate those who try to hide behind the love of God with their pet sins. How dare they complain that people are judging them when they are only exercising Godly rebuke and warning them of the consequences of their actions. For the time will come when they will not endure
sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves
teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the
truth, and shall be turned unto fables. If you take another look at the opening passage of scripture you will see that although we must rebuke all false doctrine sharply, Paul is directing this comment specifically at those who give heed to Jewish fables. Now make no mistake, there are a lot of false teachings out there, but no doctrine more rife with Jewish fables than that of the Hebrew Roots Movement. Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of
Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified,
whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before
you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which
is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other:
for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must
be saved. The utter foolishness and pride of substituting the name of Jesus with that of the demon Yeshua, when scripture plainly tells us that there is no name under Heaven by which men are saved but that of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:10-12 KJV). Yes, only one name under Heaven has any power, but tellingly these Hebrew Roots cultists cannot even agree on which supposedly ‘sacred name’ they should use! Yeshua is a demon. Stop using a demon's name to replace Jesus. He is not impressed by your rejection of His name. The name Yeshua is derived from the Talmud which is Kabbalah, Jewish mysticism. The Hebrew Roots cult is so obsessed with all things Hebrew that they have actually created their own false bible version that they call the ‘Restored Names’ version. And in the case of the New Testament they take this obsession to such extreme lengths that they translate all the names and many original Greek words in the English King James version to Hebrew and back to English again. Here’s great example of this that the Lord brought to my attention: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the
first and the last. In their insane plot to connect everything in their 'restored names' bible to Hebrew they altered the above verse thusly: I am the Aleph and the Tav, the beginning and the
end, the first and the last. They changed the words that Jesus used, the first and last letters of the Greek language to the first and last letters of Hebrew! Not only has this brought down a curse down upon them, but it has opened up a simple truth. Although as God incarnate Jesus could speak any language He chose to, this verse in the King James proves that Jesus commonly spoke Greek in His daily life, and to an audience that would understand His reference to the Greek alphabet! ![]() Blog comments powered by Disqus |
