Why Hebrew Roots is Heresy
when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was
needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly
contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there
are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this
condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness,
and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Christians who are weak in the faith are susceptible to teachings that are heretical. One which has reared its ugly head once again in these end times is Hebrew Roots. Basically, it is the idea that we need to keep Mosaic Law, a matter which was definitively dealt with in Acts 15. Some even go so far as to dress up as bible characters, such as Michael Rood, in some sort of weird, ritualistic Christian cosplay. The reason it has resurfaced is simple; one of the roles of the Antichrist will play is that of the returned messiah of the Jewish people! Many superficial Christians will be deceived into worshiping the Antichrist as Yeshua.
I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not:
if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
It was only a little while ago that God gave me the proverbial ‘straw that broke the camel’s back’ regarding this profane name. I was shocked to discover that the name ‘Yeshua’ (Yeshu) comes to us from the Babylonian Talmud, the same wicked book that suggests that our precious savior is right now in Hell boiling in excrement. In this book, we are shown the nickname as it were that the men who crucified Jesus (Talmudic Jews) gave to Him: Yeshu. This word translates to “May His (Jesus’) name and memory be stricken out!”
This profane name Yeshua is a sort of gateway drug into Hebrew Roots heresy. For those who have not done the research the name appears to simply be the ‘Jewish name’ of Jesus. This however is based upon specious knowledge. To well-grounded Christians, the fact that this supposed name of Jesus appears nowhere in scripture would immediately set off alarms. But they explain this away as being due to our King James Bibles being corrupted! They even brazenly rewrote the KJV, with a forgery they call the ‘restored names’ version.
As if that weren’t enough, they also discount all the writings of Paul. Why? Because he wrote at great length about how Christians are no longer under the Law, but under grace. Self-described ‘former’ Satanist, Freemason, vampire and Hebrew Roots proponent Bill Schnoebelen writes that Paul’s teachings are “misunderstood”. I believe that this man has in fact never left Satan’s service, but merely graduated to disseminating one of his master’s greater deceptions.
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are
not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are
not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Now the question of whether Christians are under the Law or not should be cut and dried. Paul plainly wrote that we are no longer under the Law, which is why Hebrew Root cultists must dismiss his writings. They attempt to claim that Paul’s writings were contrary to Jesus’ words, which is not true. Do a Google search of the phase “Paul or Jesus” to see how they ham-handedly try to cause division.
Why is Hebrew Roots infecting so many in these end times? I’m not going to mince my words. It is because most Christians do not read their bibles, and when they do they do not have the Holy Spirit as their teacher. For this cause they are extremely vulnerable to false teachings. Their Freemason infiltrated churches can teach them virtually any doctrine they wish because they have zero discernment! How else can you explain the blindness that would ever allow Yoga into the house of God? Or the brazen celebration of pagan holidays such as Christmas (winter solstice, sun worship) and even Halloween?
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. (Matthew 5:17 KJV)
The question of the role of the Law in our lives is wrapped up in Salvation 101. Jesus Himself tells us He came to fulfill the Law. When you fulfill something, you have completed the obligation. The most basic tenet of Christianity is that God requires perfect obedience of the Law, but no matter how hard we earnestly strive to perfection in our hearts we cannot attain this perfection. Jesus, by going to the cross, filled that wide gap between God’s demand of perfection and mankind’s inability to be perfect. You see, Jesus paid a bill we could never possibly pay. In living a perfect life according to the Law, our precious savior Jesus Christ fulfilled God’s need for sinless perfection. Then in dying on the cross, Jesus paid in full (fulfilled) that debt to God for all of mankind (1 John 2:2 KJV). Glory to God!
And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose
up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago
God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word
of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them
witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no
difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now
therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples,
which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
In the early church there were also those who fell into the deception of Hebrew roots, commanding that men be circumcised and keep Mosaic Laws. But with the understanding that Jesus paid a debt for us on the cross that no mortal man could, we can plainly see that this is what Peter was referring to in the above passage. The ‘yoke upon the neck’ that Peter refers to is the Law of Moses. Nobody was able to bear keeping the Law perfectly, which is why Jesus went to the cross. Inversely, it naturally follows that if even one mere mortal were able to keep the Law perfectly, then Jesus went to the cross needlessly!
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him,
that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve
sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to
the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to
him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed
unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Comparing the above verses, we learn the simple truth. When Paul says we are ‘dead to the Law’ he means our ‘old man’. That is to say, the person we were before we believed and accepted Christ’s dying in our place for our sins, is reckoned dead. Under the Law dead people cannot be charged with a crime. We have entered the Holy Ghost witness protection program. We are even given a new name according to Revelation 2:17 (KJV)! As Christians, through faith we bear witness to Christ’s finished, fulfilled and completed work on the cross, and we agree that our old man is dead by the miraculous power of His shed blood!
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
So what happens if we try to keep Mosaic Law, after Christ fulfilled it? We are by our actions demonstrating that we do not really believe He fulfilled the Law! We are saying that it is our job to finish His work. We are saying our old man is not really dead. We are in fact spitting upon that cross of Christ!
Some will mock this very idea that we are dead to the Law, claiming that the fact we still struggle with sin proves that our old man is not really dead. This is because of another basic tenet of salvation that is not taught in many churches. Scripture makes it clear that the infilling of the Holy Spirit replaces Mosaic Law.
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the
epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink [Torah], but with
the Spirit of the living God [Holy Spirit]; not in tables of stone [the 10 commandments],
but in fleshy tables of the heart.
You see, the Hebrew Roots deception requires one to throw out not only the entire teachings of Paul, but also that of Peter when he showed us that trying to keep Torah is akin to taking a yoke upon us that is impossible to bear. Most important, it makes Jesus Himself a liar when He declared “It is finished!” from the cross.
The current state of true servants of God is to sin as little as possible, with the Holy Spirit dwelling within our hearts and convicting us of sin. That is yet another false teaching of the Mosaic Law keepers. They must deny the power of the Holy Spirit to convict us of our sins, because why would anyone try to keep Torah when the Law is already written in their hearts?
One thing that causes some confusion about the Law are the verses that say the Law is good, and will never pass away. They take this to mean that we have to keep Mosaic Law after all, but that is not the case. Take note that scripture doesn’t say the Law is dead, but that we are dead to the Law. There is a clear distinction between the two. The Law is in fact still alive and well, but it exists solely to condemn unbelievers to Hell.
As servants of Jesus Christ we are are not under the Law, but under grace, period! We cannot voluntarily put ourselves back under the Law without first removing ourselves from being under the grace of God as expressed through Jesus dying on the cross for our sins! Those who put themselves back under the Law in so doing have literally lost the ability to receive forgiveness for their sins. This is a grave matter with eternal consequences! Do you dare to even think you can do a better job than the Son of God at keeping the Law?
The good news is that even now while you are still breathing you can repent of Hebrew Roots apostasy and receive instant forgiveness. Ask God to forgive you for denying that Christ is the only way to Heaven, and believing that you could possibly get yourself into Heaven by keeping Torah. That is a works based salvation, and it is false. We are not righteous, but righteousness is imputed to us by faith in the blood of Jesus to wash away our sins forever! When the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin we confess them and repent in order to obtain forgiveness.
